I though specific output merely meant the total output not bhp/L. The F430 is 483 bhp/360 KW and 465 Nm/343 ft-lbs The RS4 is 420 bhp/313 KW and 430 Nm/317 ft-lbs The S63 is 525 bhp/392 KW and 630 Nm/465 ft-lbs There is nothing wrong with AMG's claim. They have got a more powerful engine, despite the lower bhp/L. |

Good point henk4. In fact thats not even the only one, they also seem to have forgotten the Audi RS4 whose 4.2L V8 cranks out about 414hp or appx 100hp/L. The Maserati (read ferrari) 4.2L V8 in the Quattroporte gets about 94hp/L. The F430 does even better with just around 112Hp/L. Surprisingly, even specific torque figures of the RS4 (75 ftlbs/L), Maserati (79 ftlbs/L), and Ferrari (80 ftlbs/L)are higher than the new AMG63 (74 ftlbs/L). I'm sure there are others I have left out as well. Nothing against AMG, I love their stuff but the claim seems a bit off! |

Apparently the AMG guys have overlooked the performnce figures of the Ferrari F430, which produces significantly higher outputs than the AMG engine. |
