| I want one NOW !! |
| Motormad 11-02-2007 |
I still remember as a 'late' teen, seeing my first Camaro, making mincemeat out of the Ford Mustangs at Oulton Park (UK) during a Clubman's day... It stayed with me until 1974 when I was a passenger with a US Navy Commander, at Treasure Island (San Francisco Naval Base) - after I'd gashed my head while in a "Read Cup" sailing race. Even though in pain and with a towel wrapped around my head, I thrilled as he broke the speed limit and accelerated with lots of G-force to get me to the sick bay quickly (needed 10 stitches). He waited and then returned me to complete (and win) the last race - regrettably in a more sedate fashion!! The pain was kept at bay because I was on a high - from the exhilaration of that great car. Loved them since... Regrettably, owning one in UK was not really an option (Kids, mortgage, etc.) However, my son now lives and works in L.A.(married), and I am moving Stateside next year to work - and am upset that I'll have to wait over a year before I can get my hands on my 'favourite' toy. I want it now !! :( |
