Four words: making the dealers happy. That's the only reason for this. You want to drive a BMW and save the planet? Step 1: drive a 120d, fill it with biodiesel, drive slowly, roll down the windows instead of using the A/C and don't over pack. Step 2: don't fly anywhere, take trains or drive. Step 3: repeat step 1 and 2 until the 1 Series hydrogen car comes out. |

This looks to be technically very well advanced, yet the burning question remains: "why put it into an X5?". Is there not enough place in a 3-series for all the additional equipment? I would really love to see the real impact on a 320d, which in itself is already a very frugal proposition. I dislike BMW's efforts to make the X5 socially acceptable... |
