| Looks classy, but... |

... it's like Lincoln stopped reading the history of the Renault Avantime and Vel Satis right before they went on sale and flopped... must keep reading. |
| Just a guess? |

I'm not sure how the steering works, but potentially the rim of the steering wheel could have gear teeth on the inside, which engage with teeth on the end of the shaft. That would turn the shaft itself at a very high speed but gearing further down the system could compensate for that. I don't actually know but that is one way it could be done. I hope it isn't drive by wire, and even if it as I suggested it may be, it would be a terrible system. Compromising vehicle-driver feedback for aesthetics is a terrible thing. |
| how does it work? |

Is there anybody who can explain how the steering wheel can turn, when the steering axis looks to be off-centre? Is there a drive by wire sustem? Secondly, the engine is probably by far the most important part of the car, having already been announced in the Volvo concept, and now also for the Taurus and the Lincoln MKS, it seems that finally downsizing at Ford has begun. Would also result in a very interesting Focus. |
