I can't think of a better muscle-car manufacterer than Shelby. Since the Cobra and Shelby Mustangs of the 60's and 70's, they've always been about actually making the cars go harder. Basically, to 'hot-rod' them. Carrol Shelby and his crew in the day were nothing more than a bunch of Californian hot-rodders, and given a few cars to play with, high-performance machines were pumped out for years. Right up until now with this GT500. The only difference is this is a performance road car, not a racer. But the same ingredients are there, including the pumped-up engine and suspension tuning. It must have been finding out about the factory-built 800hp Twin-Paxton Shelby Cobra 427's that sealed the deal for me. There just isn't a more crazy and exciting performance car manufacturer than Shelby. |
