I don't agree with the killer whale looks, I like the looks of the second gen. Supra. |

I hope that there is going to be a new supra. One of my all-time favorites |
| One of the greatest |

I think the Supra was one of the greatest cars ever too. Having owned one I can speak first hand about it's performance, fit and finish looks and the sheer "whoa look at that!" effect it had on onlookers as it went down the street. Also it was rock solid reliable unlike the RX7. Yes the Supra is heavy (had to push it down the street after the battery died so I know) but the weight contributes to its stability (100MPH in the rain) and it rigidity. I bought a Supra because it was beautiful and it was an excellent sports GT. Not to race it on the weekends at the autocross. I'd by a used civic and work it up for that. As far as another Supra, I hope they stick with the 4th edition body and interior layout (the best around in my opinion) as a base and work from there, it is a timeless shape |

According to wikipedia.com "This engine is very popular with tuners for its high horsepower potential and reliability. Modified versions of the 2JZ-GTE have been seen with over 1500hp. Notable is Marko Djuric's '93 Toyota Supra, a street driven vehicle with a stock displacement 2JZ-GTE that dynoed 1520 horsepower at the rear wheels in 2004" And i have read in numerous magazines that 2JZ -GTE Supras can support 400kW thats 533hp with stock internals (pistons, crankshaft). The only eakness I've read is the transmission which can't cope well with the skyrocketing torque of these modified engines. |

honestly when it weighs this much, i could care less about how much power it makes. |

ok fast and the furious did blurr alot of facts on cars but the fact is the supra with a cast iron block and head .... is in fact capable of 800 hp internaly stock. i cannot guarentee that you can daily drive it without going shoot block to short block but it can be done. personally i go with longevity and would mod internals for some reliability if the car is a dialy. however ... crisis.. it is possible for an internaly stock supra to make 800 hp . its all about air and fuel tuning. |
| dream on |
| crisis 30-6-2003 |
I personally like Supras but 800hp with no internal mods, dream on. Watch out for exploding engine and transmission parts. Fast and Furious has a lot to answer for. Kids will believe anything. We need NOS man! |

| cixyooj 23-5-2003 |
i believe that the supra is the best there is to offer on this planet. You can hardly ever see a domestic mop up a supra, which is hella funny. the supra is pretty much the only 6 cylinder car that can be tuned up to 800 hp before you have to change the stock parts. I dont think there is any domestic cars that can do that. No to mention the possibility of the supra running the quater mile in under 10's. So for all the people who love the domestics like the viper, let's see you pull that off with less than $80,000 put into a car and that usually with the car. supra 30,000-40,000, Greddy t88 turbo kit 33,000. outcome 1000+hp, all for under the price of a viper. |

Its time for Toyota to build another decent sports car. Where has the creativity that built the Supra gone. There is surely a market for cars of this type. Get off your arse Toyota and go for it. Enough of this MR-2 and Celica hairdresser crap. And for fuck sake make it rear wheel drive. |
| Handeling |
| 2Surpas 21-4-2003 |
I do'nt know who said the Supra does not handle good is pretty messed up.As you may not know the Supra's rear suspension was fine tuned, fiiine tuned by Lotus which is independent. |
| This car is simply THE one |
| FightingDiva 16-4-2003 |
This is the ultimate supercar one man (or woman) can have. It can smoke almost anything on the road and it looks dressed to kill. Let's hope Toyota can make something like this again since neither the MR2 or the Celica can be compared to this supa-dupa machine. |
| Wow |
| TurboDOHC 30-3-2003 |
"Wow. What can I say. The Supra is ultimatly my favorite car. It is by far in my opinion, the cream of the crop when it comes to the top imports from Japan. De spite what any of you think, when it comes to import dragracing, I mean unibody imports that arn't 1000 pounds lighter than they are stock, the Supra cannot be matched. The performance potential is so high. Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't know what they're talking about. Just look up Jesus Revera's Supra with 903wrhp on a stock bottom end. thats what I call performance potential. I would like to see a new Supra come out and continue the Supra legacy, but I have a feeling Toyota might ditch the turbos like Nissan did with the 350 Z. Ive seen some good drawings of the concept but I saw one that looked like crap. I hope Toyota makes a wise decision in deciding on an exterior design. SupraMKV or not, the MKIV will always hold that ""place in my heart"" as FusionFX put it." |

zero- i agree. supra has so much tuning potential, it can get up to 1200 horsepower and still remain street legal. i think it can beat almost any car out there thanks to the incredible number of aftermarket performance products available. everything in this car can be tuned, from the engine to suspension and interior. i think supra is one of the most capable cars out there. it can handle like a ferrari, stop like a porsche, and accelerate as good as any muscle car. |
| new supra? |
| dubshoka 19-1-2003 |
i dont think there should be a new supra. i think they should start a new model performance car. but they might make one anyway, i've seen a picture or two, and its a ugly pile. but those might just be bunk pictures too |
| the same supra? |
| civic 8-1-2003 |
this toyota supra is almost 8 years old and almost a good car. BUT, now its time to get a new supra! honda nsx is also a very old car and now u can get it with a face lift. i think its time for toyota and i hope the next supra will be as good as the supra4. |
| FDRX7Driver- No potential? |
| Aspire 6-1-2003 |
"How can a fellow FD owner be this ignorant of Supras? I do agree w/ you on some level about the handling capabilities of the Supra. The Supra doesn't fair well against the godlike handling of RX7s, ferraris, and such, BUT that doesn't mean the car doesn't handle well at all. I believe it handles great for what the car weighs. (3600 lbs if I'm not mistaken) Your opinion is a biased one. Saying that the Supra has no ""performance potential"", as you put it, soley based on autocross is preposterous. I guess the Titan Supra, which runs 9s consistantley, doesn't have potential in your eyes. Although you and I share similiar tastes, with both of us owning FDs, I find your opinion on the Supra distorted. """ |

| zero-cool 18-12-2002 |
This is an absolutely incredible sports car with the most potential of any car i have ever seen. If you think this car can't be made fast you though DEAD wrong. The Supras stock bottom end has been dynoed at 903 hp without nitrous and goes to 60 in a mere 2.7 secs. there are countless Supras out there running well over 600hp and it is not hard to achieve this power with the Supra. Slap a single turbo on and tune it and your making an easy 550 hp on stock fuel system and transmision. This is perhaps the most capable sports car out there, and if you don't believe me, you do the research and you will be surprised. |
| The new supra ~_~ |
| Fusion FX 22-11-2002 |
the supra RZ MK IV is a briliant car with alot of potential. I hope to someday own one. However the MK 5 might perform better i dont like how every car designer and their dog seems to be making their cars look more like the Audi TT... get some orginality! Scrapping the spoiler?! bleh from the pics shown i dont like the new supra, the old one will always have a 'place in my heart' ^_^ but if car designers keep this up, especially japanese cars, i will have to be a classic car owner! |
| probably a typo |
| CarbonFibre 16-11-2002 |
considering he did the weight in kilos then he probably means 100 kph. Just replace the 2 with a 5 because the WRX got a best time 0-60 mph of 5.4 seconds. Hopefully it was a typo or he's got an overly optimistic imagination |
| Yum yum tyre monster gets greedy... |
| kudosdude 14-11-2002 |
...when it comes to track work. To be honest the only reason I can see for not taking this thing to a track-day is that it will cost a fortune if you do it often, this thing eats tyres and brakes just going down a public highway. If you can stomach the costs though it would be an exceptionally good fun beast, twin turbos mean that holding a tailslide is hardwork, get it right though you'll look like a hero. I don't care who you are you will be overtaken at some point on a track-day, it is inevitable, the more people stop worrying about it the better. Beleive it or not, a track-day is not Formula 1, so expect it. I can't describe how irritating it is when people try to stop you getting past. grrr. Oh and shark8me4tea, i don't know any caterham that does 0-100 (be that mph (no way) or kmph(doubtful) in 2.4. The R500 does it between 3.4 and 3.6... unless you were talking about dropping it out of an aeroplane... |
| It's not a bad track car at all |
| GTS25t 14-11-2002 |
True something as purposeful as a Caterham will be nigh on unbeatable by a road car, but most people can only afford one car. If you fall into this category and you are an enthusiast you want to be able to have a (semi) pratical car that you can also enjoy on a race track when the opportunities present themselves. I fall into this category and the R33 Nissan Skyline GTS25t was the best compromise in terms of performance, affordability and practicality. The Supra would be similiarly the best compromise for other people. Having driven one around a track, I have to say that you can have a lot of fun on a track with a Supra and not need to trailer it. Ultimately this is what the enthusiast is after and the Supra can deliver this. The Supra was not built with pure track intentions but can easily satisfy the urges of weekend warriors. |
| Road and track |
| shark8me4tea 13-11-2002 |
This is not a bad car, but how can you say that it does not compare to the wrx etc on the track. if you want a track car, get a catherham. for half the price of a WRX you get o-100 in about 2.4 seconds and the sort of handling that these cars only dream of. it only weighs 500Kg's. Good luck to all of you rice-burners. |
| we want generation 5 |
| gtr_racer 10-11-2002 |
Supra is a great car.Its design combined with the twin turbos make a unique style. It can be heavy but its noise engine is simply the best sound that i could ever hear. |
| Potential? |
| FDRX7Driver 22-10-2002 |
what kind of potential?...the car is beautiful to look at. has power. toyota quality..but does it really have more to offer in terms of performance?...not really...first of all the car is extremely heavy compared to its competition. this is the reason why the car needs so much HP. but at the same time the weight makes the car less agile on the track..always getting left through corners...this car is beaten by the competion(NSX,SKYLINE,RX-7,LANCEREVO)...im not trying to put this car down...i love the supra. im just saying it doesnt kick ANY ass at all on the track or compared in modified class. but makes one hell of a street or show car. but if you plan to do any racing....you dont want your project car to be a supra unless its for show...so in terms of performance...choose somthing else. |

I know that I am not the only one who feels that the Supra is one of the greatest sports cars, and I would love to see them revive this car. It just has so much potential. |
