Some UK police forces used these, and judgig by the performance figures, it's no wonder. It'd certainly get the kids to school quicker than the school-run mum in her Land Rover. |

I think you mean RICKARD Rydell.Him and Jan Lammers drove it in `94. Was running as high as 4th a couple of times before other cars nudged it off the track.(there is a lot of it to hit!). If Volvo carried on with the estate i think they could have won races in it but instead they resorted to the 850 saloon and became the car to beat untill Audi came with their 4WD A4 in 96. Volvo didnt win the title until 98 with Rydell in the S60. Goodnight. |

I forgot to add that Richard Rydell drove the stationwagon in BTCC for a first year. It looked very spectacular but wasn't really the best way to win races. Even though it wasn't the fastest, the 850 got loads of good PR and was fast let in the peoples hearts and garages... After one season of PR in BTCC they switched to the regular sedan model. |

This is so far the most sporty Volvo ever built (minus the fibre glass P1700). With raw looks and the significantly yellow color it attracted many Swedish mens hearts. It even has a name: T-gul which meant T-yellow in Swedish. It could mean either Turbo Yellow but there are hundreds of versions that keep on coming. T-gul is a chemical alcohol in Sweden... |
