The XJ220 was destined to be a failure, but not for the reasons that you stated. Big and vulgar? It's dimensions weren't much different to that of the F40 and 959. Not technically interesting? No, I suppose being the fastest car in the world at the time is fairly uninteresting. And finally, 'funny how Jag never seems to get it right'? No, I suppose the string of Le-mans wins shortly before the release of the XJ220 were very bad decisions. |

The car sold at RM for $230,000 which was the bottom of the estimated range. What a deal! Aside from the paint, I think I would have liked to have it. I just didn't happen to have the cash on hand. |
