| I agree with you nemanja . . . |

I don't know if you remember the old Civic SIR... but here in Mexico I saw that car and had the pleassure tu drive one, to tell you the truth, with that car I kicked a 1.8T audi TT's ass, this is a hell of a car don't you think? I was surprised and a little mad when Honda changed the image of the car because it was excelent, this Civic SIR was incredible ! ! 160HP was all you needed to be happy and to go to your limits, but this Civic Type R although is one of the best cars around, would be perfect and simply perfect with the old shape, I would be very happy to buy one you know? The first time I saw the Civic SIR was time to buy car in my family but as it was a coup every body prefered to buy the Accord and I was so sad... Any way I agree with you man, I'm happy that there is some body else that thinks the same way I do . . . Only One cuestion: ?What do you think about the NSX type R? |
| shame for the shape |

"I currently drive one ""fast and furious"" Honda which I like very much, altough you have to be very skilled driver if you want to exploit all qualities of this car. With last sentence I don`t imply that I am a skilled driver, I just say that as quite well known fact. What I have allways liked in Hondas is that in small car class (Golf, Astra, Corrola, etc), Civic allways meant something special, car for individualists, car with very sporty image, with so many technic details based on F1 experience. And that sporty tradition has been kept till the last of Civic, when Honda decided to flatter the common taste. And suddenly, we have the new Civic looking like the MPV!!! Type R is brilliant car, goes like hell, sounds like heaven and the price is so... affordable. But when I look at it, I just wish if it could be wide and flat, like in good old times." |
| Torque and the US |

Amazing how people talk... I own this car, lack of torque is ridiculous, It pulls cleanly in 6th from 1500rpm ! It has a nice spread of power, its light so its squirt fast at low revs. Granted its no turbo 300Nm monster, but then it doesn't have 1600kg to lug around. Go TRY it, then write. On bringing it to the US, forget it, ees got rock hard suspension - noise form wheels, no auto box, and fatty's dont fit the seats :) |
| 300 hp |
| PHOTOMAN20 22-6-2003 |
Supercharging should take care of the low end torque. adding another 70-80hp more. add a cold-air intake with a new header and cat back should give it 10-15hp more. pully system and chip modification could boost it 10-15 more. at the very least the new type are could be considered formitable. 3,500$ isn't much to spend if you want to own the road for under 25,000$ |
| bring the type-R over |
| civic_si_2003 4-6-2003 |
Look we have the civic si 2003 in america with 160 hp why can't honda just bring the civic type-R over they would make more money . Look the honda's civic si 2003 sells very fast if they would bring the civic type-R they would make more money and more people would buy it. but it would have to be the same body stile that the si is. |
| hope for the future! |

"Word going around the rumor-mill recently has been that the North American market indeed will get a chance to have this hatch! A much greater improvement over our current, underpowered Si, this Type R, if priced well will spur a huge growth of sales for Honda against such competitors as the Focus SVT and Sentra SE-R. Although it still has Honda's almost trademark lack of low-end torque, the Civic Type R does seem to like ""inspired"" driving at the upper end of its rev range. I say, bring it on! =]" |
| I really do respect the HCR. |
| 905MP3 3-1-2003 |
I honestly think that this car is among the best of FF drive cars. That's okay if they decide not to bring this car over the U.S., because we will figure a way to make this car by converting the civic si into the HCR by swaping engines with the Acura RSX type-S. |
| Bring the Type R to America |
| Mike Hendrick 2-10-2002 |
I think it would be great if Honda would consider bringing this car to North America along with it's counter part the Acura RSX Type R too. Beautiful car all in all |
