Hit the nail on the head there, unfortunately the internet population largely consists of boys between 14-18 years with some forays in the higher age echelons. In order to keep a site (financially) viable you somehow have to satisfy the majority of the readers. (and who they are is visible from the comments). I personally enjoy the pieces on the more historic cars, and I can assure you that the editor of this site also has his preferences in this direction. It is sometimes frustrating to see that the more interesting cars are being ignored, or dismissed as being just old.

"I agree with 100%, this is actually on my top 5 list of ""cars I'd give my left nut for"". I'm glad to see I'm not the only one to see the greatness of this machine. And thank u for remind us all of the glorious origins of today's super cars. You sir, are a gentalman and a scholar."

"I can`t believe that I am the first to comment this true legend of automotive industry. Is it possible thet no one read very informative text about this car. I read never-ending comments and discussions on ultimatecarpage.com about ""Skyline can kick the ass of TVR - TVR can kick..."". Sometimes I really can`t understand new generations - do they think that everything begins and ends with turning on the turbo`s to the 800hp, fitting the nitro`s, 19inch wheels and expensive car hi-fi. Let`s see what we had in 1954 from Mercedes... Tubular frame chassis, extensive usage of lightweight materials, fuel injection, gullwing doors, removable steering wheel (like in F1)...Let`s the relation between bhp and max speed - 215 bhp / 260km/h. Hmmm, interesting, I can`t remember if someone has this score these days. I am not very fond of Mercedes generally, but 300 SL was so innovative in every aspect that it deserves to be in the first row of candidates for title ""The best car ever made""."
