The '8CTF' has been my benchmark 'Classic' Indy roadster/Grand Prix car since I first became aware of it in the mid too late fifties. Like the Cistalia coupe, the Porsche Speedster, the XK120 Jaguar, and few others, it is simply 'Perfect'. Over the years I have drawn several plans for construction of a classic roadster, and the 8CTF has always figured into the design. A Knesal Portland, Oregon |

Indeed this is a beautiful car, magnificently restored and also captured so well by Wouter's photographs. Ah! those were the days when men had to be men; note the absolute lack of driver protection and the huge steering wheel diameter, presumably to lessen loads on the steering wheel? Easy to see the lineage of this car to the legendary 250F post-war Maserati. [Wouter, thanks for the fine images. Brilliant shots. Did you use a tripod for the track shots and what camera did you use etc?] |
