| KING OF THE HILL! |
| runwhatubrung 16-7-2003 |
First of all I cant believe that anyone actually thinks the C5R can even contend with the Viper. The Viper handed Chevrolet its ass on a plate in GT racing, and the only reason the C5R started winning is because Dodge relieved the factory sponsored racing team. I hope your not one of those old guys that actually thinks a 69L71 is fast or for that matter even a C5, Viper is king of the hill accept it. And as far as comparing it to a turbo ferrari that costed half a million dollars thats ludicris, not naturally aspirated and doesnt meet US emissions which is the reason they have a US version with not as much horsepower. Tread lightly SAFTA warrior, runwhatubrung or go home crying. |

Yeah the Vettes are winning... IT TOOK EM LONG ENOUGH!!! How many years did the Viper go unchallenged by anyone? For a long time your big bad vette was bairly in the race, and was of no concern to the Viper boys. And we have yet to see how the C5-R contends against an all new Viper. Ecspecially a factory backed racing team, Viper took control almost out of the gate. It took the Vette years, and now there's a new Viper to contend with, we'll see how well the Vette does then. |
| Not Even Close! |

the Corvette C5-R is a better car, the viper is out dated, it will not come close to that of the C5-R. there is a new king in this raging category (GT3) and its corvette and deservedly so, what better car to shit all over Porsches and Vipers. Corvette fans can sit high, watching their beloved car beating what was the fastest cars, the vette has put them all to shame! |

In all likely hood dodge will release a GTS coupe version in the next 2-3 years. I can't emagine them not, not with the coupes being the best selling versions. |
| I thought there was a hardtop in production! |

Here i am, under my rock, when i come out and someone infomrs me that dodge will not be making a coupe version of the new viper! WTF is with that! they had so better, otherwise they may have to deal with thousands of screaming, wet driving enthusiasts who couldn't get the top up quick enough! plus, that metal roof does wonders for crash protection and chassis stiffness |
| Could be better |

This Viper is very nice but i think dodge kinda held out as far as power goes. In a recent car and driver they did a supercar test, and there was a viper(a previous gen. GTS ACR) called the lethal 750(for 750hp...) and all of this was gained by tuning(no twin turbo's like the Hennesey) and this could be done to this car as well. Also the viper's tendancy to run very hot(ive heard of people burning their hand on the hood after a day of driving(and on the exposed metal of the shifter as well) All that being said the new viper is incredibly well thought out in its developement(now if only they would put a hard top into production they would have me as a customer) |

yo man thats nuttin this car can perduce more HP if they do engine work on it, one thing that i find weird is that the normal car can go faster and and has less power than the Competition coupe but its all good. |

I think the dodge viper competition coupe is an amazingly beautiful car.Its 8.4 liter engine can pump out a good 525BPH and its top speed is about 200MPH and a 0-60 time of only 3.8 seconds.Although its hp per liter is not that good, because of its huge engine that only has 525BHP as apose to the ferrarie f40 whith its 2.9 liter engine that pumps out about 500BHP.But even whith the vipers little hp per liter it definitly has the making of a awsome racing car. |
