Building upon the success of its historic Ferrari Leggenda e Passione esale in Maranello, Italy, where a new world record was set for the most expensive motor car sold at auction, (a 1957 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa for �9,020,000), RM Auctions, in association with Sotheby�s, will return to England on 28th October for its eagerly anticipated Automobiles of London event at Battersea Evolution.

The Automobiles of London sale will round off another fantastic year for RM�.
RM Auctions is renowned for offering outstanding quality cars, and this year�s Automobiles of London sale features cars of exceptional rarity and provenance. Heading the line-up is a super-rare 1963 ATS 2500 GT 3.0-Litre Coup�, one of only eight ATS sports cars produced between 1962 and 1965. Chassis no. 2004 was the was the last example built, one of only two fitted with the 300-horsepower ATS 3.0-litre V8 engine and believed to be one of only five surviving examples. Estimated between �600,000��1,000,000, it is significant that this is the first time an ATS has ever been offered at public auction.
Another highlight is the 1965 Shelby 427 Competition Cobra, Chassis no CSX 3006, the sixth pure-bred competition Cobra built. This car boasts an impeccable provenance and race history, including first place in the Ilford 500 at Brands Hatch in 1966, driven by Bob Bondurant and David Piper. Freshly restored and well-documented, CSX3006 was recently rebuilt to its 1966 race specifications and is estimated at �600,000 - �790,000.
Another car sitting high in the rarity rankings, is the 1962 Chaparral 1 Sports Racing Car. Chassis no. C1-004 is one of only five Chaparrals originally constructed by Dick Troutman and Tom Barnes and is one of the last of the classic front-engined sports racers. This car was driven by Skip Hudson in 1963 for Chuck Jones� Team Meridian, now correctly restored to race-ready condition is estimated at �245,000 - �345,00.
Other highlights amongst the 84 motor cars offered for sale, include the unique, experimental 1928 Rolls-Royce Phantom I Torpedo , chassis no. 17EX, which is estimated at �500,000 � �800,000, the 1950 Aston Martin DB2 Team Car �VMF 64� which is estimated at �250,000 � �450,000 and a 1954 Fiat 8V Coupe, which is exquisitely restored and is the only non-Supersonic Fiat 8V to be bodied by renowned design house, Ghia (estimate: �330,000 - �390,000).
RM is also proud to be offering a fantastic private collection of veteran Cars including some of the very finest examples of these highly sought after early cars. Highlights include a 1903 Cadillac Model A Runabout, a 1902 Peugeot Type 54 Two-Seater, a 1905 Sunbeam 12/14 hp Five Passenger Side-Entrance Tonneau, and a 1904 Soci�t� Manufacturi�re d�Armes 24/30 hp Open-Drive Landaulette, all of which are being sold with highly-prized entries to this year�s London to Brighton car run on the 1st November, four days after the auction.
