Merc W25 kinda blows my skirt up...
Hehe, a stock Hemi can't make the power required to drive the blower...
400 BHP ~ 300kW
250 LbFt ~ 336Nm
So the torque from the DFV isn't much lower than current engines, but because it developed it at half the rpm, that's why it develops about half the power. Which...
How was Justice doneto the FW-25?
Huh? I guess that's why F1 cars have low torque figures and accelerate really slowly...
Power is proportional to the rate of angular ACCELERATION.
Well F1 teams appear to not worry about torque at all, power determines acceleration.
Well the season was artificially made more exciting by constricting the points system.
why is that a problem?
Praytell what formula's you think a Dyno uses to work out torque?
Still not over until the fat lady sings...
given Power = Torque*angular velocity
Say an F1 engine is giving 950bhp at 19,000 rpm
then
19,000*2*pi / 60 * T = 950*745
rearranging : T~356Nm of torque
F1 : been obsessed for years, can't get over it.
V8 Supercars : See above but to a lesser degree
WRC : Just awesome being on the side of a hill, when McRae et al blast past at 150km/h...
I think Barcelona '96 is M$'s best drive.
Mr Hill at Hungary '97 was a pretty good effort...
Well with 2 races to go, it's still too close too call, I'd lean towards M$, He could wrap it up at Indy, or could drop back to 3rd...
I won't bet the farm just yet.
MS completed a GP with only 5th gear once, finishing 2nd to Mr Hill...
But back to the topic, Ayrton's Donington Drive was certainly one of the best I've seen...
