Compared to this, WRC is such lame Puss*es rallying...

    Nice Video
Sorry if I cannot express myself correctly, but I don't know English as good as I want, so my answers will probably be the same in many cases.

There's a story that supposedly happened at the Estoril track in 1986. Toivonen did a lap around the Estoril circuit that would give him 6th place in the grid in that year's race!! (Both laps on wet)

But this is Gr.B.. Mad Cars, mad crowds..

As if it was not known already, but from this video it is perfectly clear what killed Group B. The "fans" standing literally in the middle of the road.....I am actually surprised that the mortality rate has been so low...

but this is the rallye where several spectators were killed isn't it?

Edit: No, that was in 1986...

Yes it was in 1986, but 1987 served to prove the point that the most dangerous aspect of this rally days were the spectators and not necessarily the cars. The year after Gr.B was banned, a friend of ours (Joaquim Guedes)who was doing the rally with a Corolla AE86, had a crash that seemed like a replica of the one Joaquim Santos had the year before with the RS200. And again, people were killed, but by safer cars.

You're probably right, but many drivers had very big accidents in Group B cars that either left them seriously injured or killed them. I'm thinking of Vatanen (Argentina 85), Bettega (Corsica 85) or Toivonen (Corsica 86). In my opinion the best era of rallying was before the Group B monsters.
