This clip shows the Tour De Corse Renault Turbo and the man in white overals looking at it is Jean Ragnotti great French rally and Le Mans driver.

I ended up in the engine bay with the mechanic on this one
He's standing at the rear side of it when it's runnin.
Note the cardboard box at his feet.
They couldn't get it started ( it was b!tch for fouling plugs in about 15 seconds ) and we had plugs in getting warmed and FINALLY got it started. When it fired up the first time it ejected lots of carbon out the exhaust - ALL over the side of the pristine white CLio super 1600 rally car beside it. The Renault France guy went nuts !! So a cardboard box was employed for subesequent start ups. Got a pic of me somewhere in the engine bay ( me not the pic )
Unfortunately, the vid camera batteriies dies on me and I've no shots of ithe R5 on -track. The sound of that engine on full-chat is something else

Glad you're getting vids now.

BUT, I don't think that's the REAL R5 Turbo ?
It looks like one of the front engined ones - the rear wings don't look big enough. Those are the R5 GT Turbo. So I think it IS a GT and that's not the best (IMHO)
Also, sadly it's not the hot Group B competing Tour De Corse rally cars which are SCREAMING engines with short exhaust and huge intakes that make great noises on full tilt
