There aren't even rumour or prototypes seen of it. I assume it's either a) too new or b) they prefer the Maserati MC12 to have more success.Originally Posted by EL Nino

Visca Catalunya!
The car is still new, 550 didn't start racing until late 90s. Though Ferrari probably will do it faster to capitalize on the recent success with the 430 GTC. Besides, MC12 was more or less of a lesson learned for Ferrari since you can't really use it properly as it was designed.....Originally Posted by EL Nino

Sorry if I cannot express myself correctly, but I don't know English as good as I want, so my answers will probably be the same in many cases.
i havent seen that before.... but i really like it.
Honor. Courage. Commitment. Etcetera.
that car must've got its ass handed to it in JGTC.....Considering JGTC cars are now as fast as a LMP1 car from 2001, a GTS based car aren't gonna do to well against that...

A "modified to spec" Maserati MC12, a car that is believed by FIA, ACO to be a much more purpose built GT racer was tested by Kondo racing before 2006 season on the Super GT spec rubber, the car matched the laptime in europe for the 1998 spec Mercedes CLK-GTR(a GT1 car that weighs 200kg less), but when tested against GT500 cars around Suzuka it was 4 sec a lap slower....
Kondo subsequently gave up the idea of racing an MC12 and instead went with GT500 Z I believe.....
Super GT/JGTC is the ultimate evolution of the original GT1 concept, and for all intents and purpose are prototypes in GT shell, Europe/ACO style GT cars are not going to be competitive until someone decide to spend as much money as the manufacturers in Japan are....

Ugly! I don't like those pics!
i think it is not a problem of money, simply we are speaking of different cars, as you said, jgtc cars are prototypes, while european-rest of the world gt cars are derived from a production version, even if it is a maserati mc12 with a run of 50 cars. you cannot use one of the gt cars in that championship, it has to be a purpose-built car, like the new gt-r 500, which is no more a gt-r.
