Well since i live in Munich, i have many friends/realitives working for BMW.
Every BMW employee get's special conditions to lease a BMW car.
For example, my best friend just started his job at BMW 8 month ago.
He is working as an IT-Administration Assistant and he's NOT earning TOP DOLLARS.
Although he drives a brand new 328i Cabrio for about 290 € per month.
This includes all taxes and insurancies. And he gets a new car every half a year.

Here the hierarchy is not defined by the car you drive (not at BMW ).

We had a factory in Boeblingen, with Mercedes-Benz the car of choice for everyoen in the area for the same reason (Sindelfengen). it was strange getting a taxi ( not expensive either ) and it was a top M-B

Yeah, most of the cabs in Germany are M-B.
Even the German police only drives new BMWs and Audis.

I had a 1999 GS400..... and would take any M5 over it, anyday...... I don't see how they can really compare the two cars..... the GS series should be compared with the 530/540/545 series.....

FWIW, I'd probably take an Aristo over an M5...

Which one has won WRC championships ? ( hint: not BMW )
Which one designs and runs an F1 team ? ( hint: not BMW, they have to have someone do the hard bit )

    Can't stand BMW snobbishness.
It's a metal box with an engine. By slapping on a BMW badge WHY shoudl it be 50% more ? Nothing special about them
Correct me if I m wrong but wasn’t the Toyota rally Team run by Team Europe and the F1 team, which head quarters are located in Germany, where the cars are Developed….Toyota pays other people to do the hard work too…. And this is besides the point we are talking about road car, Luxury sports saloons to be exact. Just because the rich or snobs can afford it doesn’t make it a bad car, infect I don’t see BMW owners snobby at all it’s the Rolls Royce, Bentley etc owners who I see as snobby.

    Nothing special… I don’t see a BMW's that way… Toyota corolla i do....

    'snob' different meaning

Over here a BMW owner is usually a middle-salaried travelling salesman.
They pick the BMW so they look "important".

Good point on the Toyota. BUT it's always been ALL TOYOTA efforts.
not an engine from here a chassis from there like WIlliams-BMW.
Makes it easy for BMW to say the enigine is good it's the chassis
All one team means only one to blame !!

They also wear Man U tops at the weekend to look "cool"

I'm not sure if the British humour is getting through. Neither of these are good

Yes, sad but true. One of the biggest factors in why I don't like BMW's. And to tell you the truth, I do WANT to like them so bad...
