    Ariel Atom

I saw this on Top Gear, what a hell of a car!! .. i understand this has been posted in the past. Here's a quick reminder:

The chassis is used as the body, there is no shell (non structural composite panels)

    Two seater

    double unequal length wishbone suspension

    weighs only 456kg!!!

    6 speed gearbox

    0-60 in under 3 seconds

Uses the Civic Type-R engine ( Honda iVTEC 4 cylinder ) supercharged to give anything from 220-300hp depending on the buyers choice.

This car is EXTREME! around 600bhp per tonne!! thts more than the enzo!

Its literally a two seater, 4 wheeled motorbike...and its faster than the carrera gt!! " If it doesn't need it, it hasnt got it "

Now that'd be some fun. I saw something in a magazine about this awhile ago, they were asking people to write in about their ultimate car and such, alot of people choosing cars to cruise in or old muscle cars but someone wrote in and said they'd want one of these.

the best thing about this is, its cheap !!! its 29000 pound,i think

During the lap, the Stig did, it looked quite neutral handling. No big oversteer, and stuff, while the enzo was really sliding a lot.

not so long ago it was thought that producers of these types of cars could be in big trouble soon as they would be unable to meet all sorts of standards to be imposed by the European Union, (crash tests, type approval etc). In Holland Donkervoort was threatened and I am sure that in the UK many more small companies were supposed to fold. Anybody knows anything about the current status of these developments?

Check out the Deronda too - it's the prettiest of the lot ( IMHO )
    I'm a Ferrari sharknose fan

    Unique UCP photos at http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum...hlight=deronda

Can't wait till TG drive this one. They asked for an early prototype and the designer REFUSED to let them

Don't know what happened about the Euro laws on low voluem manufacturers.
I'm hoping Britain dug it's heels in for once and pointed out how much we're paying for the "prievlege" of being told what we can do

Back in September. "CAR" Magazine did a quarter mile race with the Ariel Atom 225 and the Merc CL65 AMG.
It was basically a Power vs Weight race, guess who won the race??? The CL65 won.... yep.... it did a 12.3 while the merc did 11.8 so thats not too bad. I guess when it comes to corners this the ariel would do better...

yeah i read that article, the mercedes driver was like "dum dee doo dum dee, ooh look at that girl in the stands!'

and the ariel driver was like "4000 rpm and then let go, no wait dont wanna stall it, better go 5,000 rpm's, maybe too high, ugh, what to do! oooh look at that girl in the stands!!"
