Ferrari actually have built an SUV in the past. It was custom built for the sultan of Brunei. He ordered loads of unique cars. I read it in top gear magazine ages ago. I even put up a post here for pictures of the cars:

But i think the link to the web page is dead now. Try it though.

    Excuse me?
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

Seriously what are you smoking? There is a two year waiting list for a regular costumer. Ferrari has set themselves a production limit of around 5000 vehicles per year. Ferrari does not need to sell more cars. In all earnest Ferrari right now has no real competition. If and only if, the demand falls short of the supply then they need to worry. Today Ferrari can sell almost anything they want, it's a completely seller dominated market.

You'd be pretty bummed out if you got stiffed with a "new" 360 whilst everyone else could run around in the 430...

Making a SUV for such a company is just a way of making money, but not making name. Making a SUV is profitable but not good for such giants. Cayenne is not a bad car, but it mustn't be made by Porsche. I've also heard jaguar is going to make a SUV soon. It's bad. Hope Ferrari won't do that. They make super cars. They don't put their name in sh*t. Ferrari musnt't behave like Porsche did.

i think the addition of an SUV to the Ferrari line would be a let down. my impression of Ferrari is that they are a drivers car company, not a haulers car company.

Yeah, but Porsche just needed money to design new sportscars, that explains the Boxter and Cayenne, but the Boxter is more of a Porsche-thing than the Cayenne, obviously...
I don't think Ferrari will ever do that, pretty sure of that!
