    Question

How is it possible that the Koenigsegg CCR is listed as having more power, and it's lighter, but its 0-60 time is slower than the less powerful, heavier, Saleen S7 Twin Turbo?
    Koenigsegg CCR
    Saleen S7 Twin Turbo

    CCR: 806bhp, 2,601.5lbs, 3.0 seconds
    S7 TT: 750bhp, 2,945.8lbs, 2.8 seconds

I just know I'm missing something here, and it's gonna make me look stupid

For starters traction, the S7 probably gets more. And next, and most important torque, the S7 peaks it torque much lower than the CCR, and has more of it.

Gear ratio's ? The koenigsegg probably has a bit longer gear ratio's , so that it can go that incredibly fast !

Not the final ratio, each gear ratio.
If you have to make an extra gear change before 60 then you lose 1/2 second !!
So SOME cars are tuned to make the 0-60.
Also, watch out that it's like for like. Eureopan tests are 0-100km ( which is actually 62 !! )
And as Slicks says - TRACTION - how much rear rubber is each sitting on ?
Tall wide rubber makes for bigger footprint and better traction but hurts in handling.

so it's all about the traction, and how tall each's first gear ratio is?

Good point, Exige. Are these the "estimated" numbers from the manufacturer. Koneigsegg used to be the worst for that.
Shame that crummy site the links refer to can't be trusted
If they are "estimates" then it carries a health warning "real world results will be worse"
If they're real numbers then there are a million and one caveats, especialy with configurable drivetrains as most supercars/racing cars have.

That's the reason why the Impreza is faster to 60mph then the Evo.
