    Abbreviation(s)

I hope this isn't a stupid question (there are no such thing as stupid questions) but anyway, what does TVR stand for?

And if anyone has any other car abbreviations they are curious to know feel free to ask.

I want to say it's a guy's initials, or at least the T and V are...at least, if the information in Gran Turismo 3 is correct...

"TVR was established in 1947 by Trevor Wilkinson, the name "TVR" being derived from his first name."

and i just found out about audi, again from the audi website:
"In 1909 August Horch got into a dispute with the supervisory board of A. Horch & Cie. Motorwagen-Werke AG. Horch left the company he had set up. Shortly after, on 16 July 1909, he established a second company, Horch Automobil-Werke GmbH, in the same city. Horch lost the legal dispute over the company name. However, a solution to the problem was found: the Latin translation of his name (the German word for “hark!”). The new company name, Audiwerke GmbH, became effective on 25 April 1910."

    Sackalack already mentioned it.

The Name "Audi" arose from the name of the founder August Horch.
The German verb "horchen" (english: to listen/latin: audire) is the source.
"Horch" is the imperative form of "horchen".
The Latin imperative form of "audire" is "audi".

Infinitive: ger. horchen = engl. to listen = lat. audire
Imperativ: ger horch = engl. listen = lat. audi
