Pontiac Bonniville production is gonna end.

the first pontiac to use fuel injection, and a very old sedan, the Pontiac Bonneville wont live to see the 2006 model year.

Pontiac announced that they are going to end production on the Bonnville sedan, due to 2 things, a. the G6 is doing so welland b. sales have declined rapidly.

they said that aft er this summer, there will be no more new bonnivilles rolling ouyt of the factories,

it seems though that pontiac is really revamping their line up, considering that Aztek production is gonna end very soon, the Grand Am is barely holding on as it's being slowly faded out like the Ford Escort. and now they are cuttting the Bonneville.

i wasn't a very big fan of the bonnville to start out with, the aztec is the stupidest car i have ever seen so i support pontiac taking it out. and i am not that surprised to see that the grand am in't doing very well. It doesn't really compare to the grand prix. What does the bonniville have for horsepower?

I dont think this is to big of a loss to the automotive industry. They have a 205hp v-6, or a 275 hp v-8.

i can only say......at least they goin back to performance. i hate to say this, but maybe a re-creation of muscle cars underway? not that im complaining, but if this is it, i liked the old version a bit better. still good cars, and i couldnt be happier to see america getting back into the cheap performance business.

The Grand Prix is getting a V8 this year and will supposedly be converted to RWD in the next couple of years. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Bonneville resurface later as a RWD V8 sedan.

And I thought the G6 replaced the Grand Am?

EDIT: Guess not. There's one year of overlap.

thats what i thought it was going to do, with its relativly close looks and everything. that is interesting.

PS: ok.....considering how many more v8s are coming out from american cars.... ive decided to make a large decision and just have things like thise and the gto as "new age muscle cars", ones that are more practical and etc. then the old ones. (yes, thats right, i will now call the pontiac the gto again, not pontiac monaro like i used to)

I liked the Bonneville. It was a very nice looker IMO, if not the most technologically advanced or comfortable car in the world. Now if only it had a BMW rivalling interior, RWD, a LS2 (I wish..) and a sporty ride, now that'd be a kick ass ride.

    not a big loss here.

the G6 is a prety decent car, they should redesign the boneville and rmake it as a V8 RWD sedan (like some of u guys said), that seems to be all the rage now. it could compete with the new charger.

For real, they have enough cars to stop making it anyway.
