53 corvette is not a c3.......also, porsche has not has any HUGE differences, they are all subtle, and usually in the front and sides.

    right.........carrera gt1?
EDIT: i really hope you mean only for something of "enzo cailber", cause the 360 was pretty common considering its price and all. and all of its predecessors. they are the cars rich people just buy for the hell of it when they are bored and dont feel like golfing at the moment

Ferrari all the way. I would pick the Ferrari in every comparison possible.

Porsche just doesn't give any effort into new designs.
They say almost everything about the 997 is new compared to the 996.
SO WHY NOT MAKE IT LOOK DIFFERENT?

Saw the Top Gear 997 911 Carrera S episode? Clarkson hit the nail on the head.
The new design may have cost the designers like 15 minutes.

There sure is one department where Porsche wins hands down:
    The Ugliest Car,

    and the winner is: Cayenne

why change a design that is still as exiting today as it was 40 years ago?
if it only took 15 minutes it only reinforces the oint that the 911's design is timeless and beautifull enough.

CDOCZ, the corvette has been very different through the generations. compare a 53 with a stingray like porsche 77' said. not the same at all, now compare a 63' 911 with a 73 911 RS.

I would most definatly prefer a porsche over a ferrari. im am not blind enough to pick NAY porsche over ANY ferrari. cmon, im sure even porsche77' would agree that between a 914 and an enzo, we would go with the ferrari. but with comparable cars (CGT vs ENZO) i would most definatlly pick the porsche.

Cmon be serious. I was talking about fair comparisons.
Ferrari 360 CS vs. Porsche GT3 RS
Ferrari Enzo vs. Porsche Carerra GT
    Ferrari 575 vs. Hmm
    Ferrari 612 vs. WHOPS!

I almost forgot that Porsche only has the Boxter, the Cayenne, the CGT and the 911...
That's one more sad thing about Porsche. If you go to a car dealer and ask to buy a rear engined Porsche
well then you have the 911 Carrera, the 911 Carrera S, the 911 Carrera 2S, the 911 Carrera 4S,
the 911 Carrera Targa, the 911 Carrera Turbo, the 911 Carrera GT3, the 911 Carrera GT2,
the 911 Carrera 4S Cabrio, the 911 Carrera Turbo Cabrio, the 911 Carrera Cabrio,
the 911 Carrera Turbo S and the 911 Carrera Turbo S Cabrio (hope i didn't miss any).

    I mean... that kinda sucks!

The old design is something to argue about. There are those who say it's boring an the designers are lazy fools
and there are those who say that the designers are wizzes cause they stick
to something so perfect that it can't be improved.
But that's a point of view. You can't convince anybody of your personal position.

The 911 is an automotive legend.

If it looked radically different people would be upset.

If they don't change it other people get upset.

It comes down to which group of people actually buy Porsches. It is usually the group that is happy with how it looks.
    Thanks for all the fish

what´s harder to do?? a completely new design, usually uglyer than the previous generation(ferrari 430), or make the same car year by year and make people to love it over 40 years??? the 911 has do it and it´s still being beautiful.
About the comparision of Andy.muc, the 612 has not rival in porsche family, but the turbo, even with 100 hp less is able to beat the maranello.

Lol? F430? That's just your own oppinion. And it sucks!
You sound like a straight fanboy so the disussion ends right here.

Matter of fact i wasn't even discussing. I just mentioned, that there are
pros and cons about Porsche sticking to the old design.

And as a real fanboy you just can't stand the cons... very sad...

    #edit:
I forgot to mention, that you really wanted to compare a Maranello with a 911 Turbo
and that you list Tom Cruise as a reference for Porsche...

what?? the reference of tom cruise it´s only for the movie risky bussines, where he says that phrase, I don´t think tom cruise he´s a reference for porsche. and the turbo should be a good competer of the maranello when both make 0-100 in 4.2 second. and what to say about the gt2....
But are you trying to say that the 430 is better looking than a 355 for example??? I think a lot of members of the forum will share my opinion that the 430 is not so good looking as you think.
