    Is Toyota replacing the Celica?

I was wondering if anyone has heard if Toyota is planning on replacing the Celica after 2005. Or if they were just leaving it with nothing to bring up for it. Totally losing the car?

I don't think they plan on a replacement. But the Scion tC is basically the same thing as the Celica was/is, and that's not going anywhere soon.

theres speculation on a "super" car to replace it now that the power restrictions are abolished in japan and theres a few things floating around the net... i saw an article on it here on UCP. try searching for it.

I know that really, the Celica and the MR2 are gonna be phased out, and since sales are slow, they won't wanna replace them, but to just forget them, but it is realy sad for me, because the celica was around since the 60's when it was a muscle car impersoniator than it formed to a true performance car. I will miss it. The Celica was the ultimate rice rocket.

Good riddance. The only Celicas I liked were the first gen ones. The new ones were pretty underwhelming as performance cars.

That said, my BFF has a '94 Celica, and as a basic getting around car it's not bad. Great clutch on that bad boy, and the 2.2 magically has adequate (not great, but better than I expected) torque and great gas mileage!

and you pull this fary tale supercar from where?

i think its a shame both the MR2 and Celicar are leaving. they had heritage and were more exciting than the good'old evryday comuters.

yes i agree i DO NOT support toyota dropping the celica or the MR2. The celica has been around for a while and has always come up with pretty cool designs. I will be disapointed if toyota takes the celica outa the line. I thought they where going to introduce a new body soon......
