    2005 Honda Accord Hybrid

RAYNAL: The fastest Honda Accord you can buy also gets the best mileage. Amazing. No other Accord offers 255 hp and 30-plus mpg at the same time. You sure pay for all that feel-good stuff with a $32,505 sticker. You pay in other ways, too: It isn’t the smoothest drivetrain available. There is a noticeable jerky feel with the IMA at launch from a traffic light. Otherwise, it is fast, has silky road manners, and like I said, gets great mileage on the freeway.

how many of you would buy the hybrid accord??

ROFL. See if America would just wake up to the benefits of modern diesel engines, you'd get the 2.2 CDTi, like we do. Only about 135bhp, but it's as refined as an average petrol and returns 50mpg. I'm pretty sure if they decided to make a more powerful version, say a 200 and something bhp version, it would still return more mpg than this hybrid thing.

Seems like a silly idea to me anyway, cos I thought that hybrids only really provide an economy benefit around town. This clearly isn't a town car. Go figure.

Yes it is always inspiring to see americans being happy when they get over 30 mpg.
However, may be this is the way to go

We are paying at least three times as much for gas
Just wait for Audi to come up with a hybrid and I know already somebody who will be the first convert

Was this part really necessary? I mean if you were trying to show incredible maturity and intelligence, this certainly wasn't the way to do it.

Congrats. You're elitist, self centred and ignorant. You're saying you'd like to see the cost of fuel go up, just so less people can afford it? Would you still be sitting on that side of that idiot fence if you went made redundant and had only just enough money to run a 15 year old scrap heap? The same scrap heap that you'd rely on for your meagre livelihood? That's a truly twisted and actually somewhat pitiful attitude.

And the prices of EVERY product you buy will go up, too. Trucking companies have to make a buck.
