Drag racing can be dangerous, most of the accidents I've seen happen either becuase a driver loses control and crosses into the other lane and hits the other car or swings back into his own lane and can't recover from the slide. Tire blow outs are quite common in the higher horse power cars.
The cars that normaly burst into flames are the Funny Cars and Top Fuel Dragsters. They use Methanol for fuel.
