    V10 Audi RS6

    Like the M5, the RS6 uses a V10 engine displacing about 5.5 liters and producing 550 horsepower.(BMW M5=500bhp)

The tamer S6 will also receive a V10, around 5.2 liters and 440 horsepower. We expect Audi to offer both six-speed automatic and seven-speed direct-shift gearboxes.

If this is al true then the M5 has very little chance of beeting the Audi in pace and in agility (hopefully everywhere)

    Coventry seriously sucks....

I read somewhere that the V10 engine didn't fit in the A6 engine bay. Anyway if they manage to shoehorn the V10 there, as Coventry said, it'll be on the heavy side...

Well only the A2 and the A8 are made of aluminium, and then it has all the makings to weight more than the M5, which already is a very heavy car, bigger engine, heavy automatic gearbox, 4WD system...

    No it isn't:

For instance a spanish magazine tested the A6 3.2 FSI Quattro Tiptronic, and the got a weight of 1809kg... So imagine with a V10 engine.

PS: Off topic, have you seen that USA A6's are limited to 130mph?... That is rubbish...

    Oh come now!

The new "lightweight" TT Quattro sport - 1500kg.

    That is heavyweight!

The Mk IV Golf, on which the TT is based, with a TDI engine (heavy) weighs 1451kg.

How can Audi's "lightweight" sports car weigh more than a 5 door family hatchback?

Seeing as the "Sporty" S-line 4.2 V8 weighs 220kg more than the base 2.4 model, can you imagine how much all the additional "sportiness" of the RS6 is going to come to?

The new M5 weighs 1830kg, 285kg more than the 523i, and that doesn't have a big heavy 4wd system.
    Thanks for all the fish

the new lightweight audi TT is the old model the new model coming out soon should be made from aluminium so that should make it light enough

stop dragging Audi down there trying and in my mind they're do amazingly with the RS4 and now the RS6
the RS6 weight wil be similar to the audies so the audi with the engine and the torque split of 70:30 rear to front, should make it grasp victory over BMW
