Which car has the highest reving engine in the world. excluding the rotary engines
the one from honda s2000 i think (don't remember the name of it)
makes something about 9000-10000 rpm i guess
12 cylinders or walk!
I read about that. For some strange reason Honda has limited it to 8200 rpm rather than 9000.Originally Posted by dydzi

Yes, you can change the fuel shut off, but it wouldnt be worth it. The max horsepower is at 7400 or something like that, so taking off the rev limiter is not worth the effort.Originally Posted by blackslbenz

Hmm...oohh....Wow!! These are delectible! Good news, Flappy! I'm not going to kill you!
Radical SR8 produces max power at 10,000rpm.
Not sure if that is the highest though.
Thanks for all the fish
radical isn't a production engine. It's a racing version. Limited lifetime before rebuild.
the challenge stradale-enzo- carrera gt-gt3 are revving high
Erm...

Not
"Which car has the highest reving engine in the world, excluding race cars."
Thanks for all the fish
the engine in the susuki hayabusa's, 1300cc, 4 cylinders, ~12-15k rpm, and it makes power through all those rpm's, i think they put those engines in cars(kit cars i think, like the ultimaż?)
or the S2000, couple of mods to get the air/fuel to 9k rpm and it'll be fine.

Before the Radical SR8 was released I think it was the E46 M3 if you presume that by production you mean un-modified. The S2000 would rev higher, but not out of the factory.
Edit : Im presuming you meant production car.

since he said the highest in the world, why not one of the F1 engines. Most are exceeding 18k
eat cicada
IIRC the little Honda Beat used to rev out to near 10K and it was also limited to 8500.

If your not excluding race engines F1's exceed 18k, and who knows how high they could go if you didnt mind ruining a multi million dollar engine. Otherwise probably a bike engine, but I don't know about bikes.
peak power of 129kw at 9800rpm.Originally Posted by TheOne

you shift when torque in ur current gear equals torque at the new gear (torque at the wheels people) so you take ur dyno graph (preferably the average of a few runs) and find ur current rpm and get ur gear ratio, find out torque at the wheels
find out what rpm ull be running in ur next gear and calculate torque at the wheels, if they're more or less equal, time to shift
obviously no one actually does this realtime thats why people do dyno tests in the first place, and they'll calibrate their shift lights (which are horribly annoying) to those points, each shift occurs at differnt rpms because of the varrying gear ratios and ratios of gear ratios (ok thats confusing)
any motor cycle engine will rev higher then the highest reving of auto engines, unless ur talkin bout a harley or something
and f1 engines rev twice as far as the highest reving road car engine
