    Ultimatecarpage.com update (07-12-05)

For many teams this weekend's Monza 1000 km race was the first chance to show their worth after last month's 24 Hours of Le Mans. The pressure was especially on the Pescarolo team to improve on the disappointing second place finish in France. For others it was just the second leg of the five race Le Mans Endurance Series (LMES) championship, which kicked off in April with the fog covered Spa 1000 km.
To warm up the crowds, a high quality support program was run before the main event. An insight into the history of the sport was offered on Saturday afternoon when the endurance racers of the 1960s and 1970s took each other on in a one hour race. Some of the most famous cars of the era were lined up, including two Porsche 917s.
We visited the event from start to finish, despite problems finding the poorly-indicated track location in the outskirts of Milan, Italy. Once we arrived we were delighted to find a course that combines a classic look and feel with all the facilities we have come to expect from a modern Formula 1 track. All of our findings are combined in a full report and 200 shot slideshow.

If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

on the chevron b16 photo, are those stickey notes on the friewall?
He came dancing across the water
    With his galleons and guns
    Looking for the new world
In that palace in the sun
    On the shore lay Montezuma
With his cocoa leaves and pearls

Those are probably scruteneering stickers for the various events he has campaigned in.
