    Beep..?

Any of you guys know about that system that when you back up your car it starts to beep when you're about to hit something? My father in law wants that crap and I need to find out for him... I don't have the time though, so if any of you knows where I could buy it or if there's a specific name for it please let me know.

    Thanks

Try Ebay or try the manufacture that made the car. Or some parts store that sells all types of shit.

My Dad has it on his Range Rover and it goes off whenever someone tailgates us on the motorway. Had to turn it off for that reason.

I think that at least on Ford cars it can work all the time, altough you can turn it off if you want. A friend's father had it in a Jaguar XJ and having it on in the city was annoying to say the least...

I think they have it on not just in reverse so that it can check the distance when you're doing hillstarts or are rolling back into a space down a hill without whacking it into reverse.

Oh ok, that makes sense actually because the Escalade can't do shit off road.

i had one on a mini cabriolet dealer loaner, and it was only functional in reverse. but it works great. it was definitely needed in that car, it has no rear visability.

I'm getting rear sensors on the 328i coming in two weeks, i hope they were mindful enough to only make it work in reverse..

well, if the mini only works in reverse, it woudl make sense that a real bmw does the same.

In Dad's Calais they only turn on when you put in reverse
