i heard that when the f-117 first visited australia the americans decided to suprise the raaf command by flying the plane to an airshow without notifying the raaf. unfortunately we use a different radar system (or something ) and scrambled two fighters to intercept and investigate. the rather bewildered pilot had an ecort to the airshow . they had to make afew changes to the design....Originally Posted by Birdman

I didn't think that they had ever flown those(F117) out here. The prototypes, to my knowledge, never left America.
