    Mines on it's way Shawn.

    Good find.

As with other things,I'm wary of putting TOO much detail. SO if anyone thinks they can turn up and steal an Alpine you'll still have to wander the neghbourhood as I've not IDed the houes. That'll give me time to get the baseball bat out !!!!!! But at least now we'll all know roughly where we all are.

If you wait long enough it usually updates the image with more detail.
hate to see how slow this would be on dial-up

ALSO, it's a lot ot ask for the whole glove to have been overflown and images released to all the same detail. Looking at it they've targtted a few areas more thna others. I'm in one of the high-detail areais - a little postage stamp in the middle of Scotland at lower res

DSL is basically .5 times faster than Dial-up over here so I suppose you could include me in....

Also does DirectX and OpenGL mode have to do eith getting clearer images? I'm using DirectX mode because it said my graphics card couldn't get to the other one

I think holland will be a mess on that worldmap tho with so many people living on such a small piece of ground, but it can still zoom tho.

I think basically the general, low detail photos are all from the same source, Earth Sat. All the high detail patches over major cities are pinched from other sources like Digital Globe, and Google have just stuck the high detail pics over the top of the main picture in a kinda patchwork manner.

Alas, my neck o' the woods is in one of the low detail areas. Sadly the UK only has a very limited amount of the high detail pics.

Try using World Wind from Nasa, my Dad used to use it a says you can zoom much closer to places, before it goes blurry.
