Yes, this is the Octopus, Paul Allen's ( co-founder of Microsoft ) biggest yaught, he also owns some other yaughts. Octopus is the largest American yaught, Allen also owns n° 3 and 14 on the list of America's biggest yaughts...
Amazing, huh, the basket court on the back, the heli, just the whole boat / floating mansion.

    More info here

satellite coms - but not sure why two identical !!
other than to surmise based on his experience at MS he expects one to crash regularly and sp while it's rebooting at least the other one has a chance of working

The smaller one kicking around is radar.

    LOL
It can be sat coms for different use. we had one on the ship i was on in the navy. Just to have satelite tv! It was soccer WC that summer and the officers demanded to have one gyro-stabelised satelite tv antenna
So we could watch tv out at sea. And they look like that. but smaler though..
Looks like the one in the top mast..

I didnt' mean for TV, that's easy.

BUT for high bandwidth two-way satellite communications you need a fairly meaty uplink power. That needs bigger dish and bigger radome.

    See http://www.lusas.com/case/composite/radome.html
"One such application is a 3.7 metre diameter radome to suit a ship borne antenna"
15 feet across ? About the size of the radmoe on the ship maybe ?

The longest yacht in the world: http://www.yachtspotter.com/ycard.php?foo=20050403
It's called Dubai, Platinum was it's project name. It was ordered by Prince Jefri of Brunei, but now it belongs to the the crown prince of Dubai. Rising Sun is longer than Octopus and so is Prince Abdul Aziz, Al Salamah, and Savarona. I know my yachts.
