    What Increases gas milage?

    Im pretty sure air filters increase gas milage. Do turbo chargers increase milage? What are the engine mods that can increase milage? I know the way you drive also comes into play, could you tell me how to drive so that you get more mpg.

    The reason why airfilters make gas mileage increase is because it lets the engine breathe better. A better flowing exhaust will increase mileage too, along with a ported head. Turbochargers make mileage go down, it tends to suck a lot of gas when the boost is at a higher level, like in racing situations. Keep your foot out of the gas, don't floor it, and drive the speed limit or 5mph slower.

    and shift early.do not rev the engine too much.that will only make it use more fuel.300 revs/min is more than enough for everyday use.

    su'perchargers will probably increase mileage, since they take power from the engine.

    It takes power, but also puts it back, and having more air going into the engine means there needs to be more gas.

    Just keep the throttle steady, and the rpm's low.

    Fast as in highway speeds, yes you can, because your car usually is at lower rpms and steady throttle while travelling highway speeds. But high speed high rpm's is terrible for mpg.

    Yes... didn't you know that the speed is equal to fuel consupmtion.

    0mph = 0mpg
    100mph = 100mpg

    Close your windows and turn off your aircon.

    Accelerate quickly up to speed and then cruise in a high gear at low rpms.

    Can someone tell me if its a good idea to put some kind of plastic sheeting over the gasoline cap and put it back on so it seals better and keeps gasoline from evaporating.

    The gasoline caps are made to leak vapors of gas so the gas vapors don't expand in the gas tank and maybe crack it and than you have liquid or gasoline gas leaks but driving the car daily drops the ammount of gasoline in the gas tank and shouldn't that make room for vapors and doesn't gasoline turn back into a liquid if it's under pressure from the expanding vapors?

    The amount of vapour lost through a vent is next to ZERO
    It negligable.

    Anyway, the vent is there for 'gasses' to move in the OPPOSITE DIRECTION

    If you block the vent then you find that the car will get sluggish and start misfiring due to fuelling problems after a few miles. With a sealed vent then as the petrol is drawn into the engine then it can't draw air to reaplce the volume in the tank. If it's a cheap tank and a decent fuel pump it will collapse the tank a little before finally the pump hasn't enough force to overcome the partial vacuum you've created in the tank !!.

    Superchargers increase fuel economy because the engine is running on vacuum. i don't know what that means or how it works, but thats i read on a site selling blowers kits for holdens (either CAPA or Yella Terra)
