I dowbt that this will be true, because Chevy will NOT release a Monaro based car considering the failure of the GTO.

    cite your sources please.

ok, first, what are you on?

There is a avalanche based Cadillac, the Escalade EXT.

There will be no new Oldsmobile, the Oldsmobile name has been laid to rest forever.

and there will NEVER be a GTO judge, because the GTO was a flop, so Pontiac has finished fiddling with it, and they will just let it die.

The Cadillac Cheyenne is the renamed EXT. I don't like alphanumerical names. I thought that a few gimmicky Oldsmobiles would revive the company. The GTO could be saved with a high performance version with 500+ horsepower and a killer paint job.

I doubt that the GTO can be saved, a Monaro just isn't right to bear teh GTO name, I wuold perfer something else that was more true to it's heritage.

Pontiac is not dropping the GTO. They're redesigning it so it won't look like a Monaro anymore.

Yes perhaps say, I know, a retro look. It seems the only way Yanks will accept a car is if it looks like it did in the 70s.

The Monaro is a good car, but not right to bear the GTO badge. I would like for the monaro so stay, under a different name.

You've got it wrong. The GTO badge is not good enough for a uglied, americanised Monaro. The Only Monaro that can wear a GTO badge is the HSV GTO.

All of these ideas for Monaro based cars are all well and good, of course ignoring the fact that Holden is discontinuing the Monaro and there is no Zeta based replacement designed yet, so any new Monaro-based designs will be running on the old GM2800 chassis
