    The New Minardi

Should Minardi-Cosworth stay Minardi-Cosworth or have the name changed?

One of my friends said change it back to Arrows.
Minardi has never been or had much to do with Arrows

Junior teams seem to be the next big hit in F1

Given they probably won't have Cosworth engines, the name will change. It'd be a nice link to keep it Minardi, but I won't be holding my breath. Hows about Red Bull Minardi?

Apparently there has been a campaign going on in the F1 paddock for Dietrich Matzetich (or whatever his name is?!) to keep the Minardi name running. They have become something of a tradition in F1 over the past couple of decades and everyone seems to have a big soft spot for them. I think Red Bull-Minardi sounds pretty good to be honest.

It's gonna be a sad day on Sunday if the Minardi name is to be used for the last time. It will mark the simultaneous end of three of the biggest independent manufacturers in the modern era of F1: Minardi, Jordan and Sauber. They have been the plucky underdogs of F1 for years and years and have done a great service to F1 over the years. Not only through trying to take the fight to the big boys, but through bringing on some of the best young driving talent on the planet. The likes of both Schumachers (Jordan), Alonso + Webber (Minardi) and Kimi Raikkonen (Sauber) have all been helped to the top massively by these three underfunded underdogs. They'll be sadly missed.

It's a shame to see Minardi leave. It would be the biggest gift of Red Bull if they wouldn't change the name. Everybody knows Minardi is the least good team, but it's said to see them go away. They are one of the most historic teams. If take a look at their drivers, they have had some great ones. Just think of guys like Mark Webber and Jos Verstappen.

It's also a shame because Minardi used to be a team where young and wealthy drivers could make their opportunity in the F1. And if there was a talented one, there where always other teams to offer them better contracts.

It hs been confirmed by Dieter Mateschnitz or wahtever he may be called, that it will become Minardi-Red Bull or Redbull -Minardi.The minardi name will still be existing. This is to not upset the tifosi in italy The factory will also still be based in Italy,it wont be moved.

(interview in AD newspaper,a month ago).

The worst team in F1 was NOT Minardi. It was Jorban.Take a look at the results. In many races the minardis finished before the jordans.

This season Jordan have been especially poor, but historically Jordan have been a much more successful team than Minardi. They have won races (even as recently as 2003) and at one point in the late 90s looked as though they might even be capable of stepping up to challenge the big boys.

In their 17 years in F1 Minardi never won a single race.
