i think hes saying Hemi's are the most economical engines ever and that they used them in Porsches!

I think he makes one valid point in that rant--the Hemi kicks some serious ass.
Looks like a Cherokee that ate a Grand Cherokee.
lol.

Looks are a matter of taste. I can see how Jeep die-hards will go gaga for this big box. My question is, why is 'HEMI' used so much in the ads? Isn't it a technology that was ahead of it's time 40 years ago? Now, it's just 40 years old.Originally Posted by whiteballz

Wow, 13/18 city/highway mpg? If you're going to get god-awful milage like that, you might as well do it in something older, cooler, more powerful, and faster. There are many options.
We all know this is just anothing massive car for the housewives to use as a kid shuttle. It's huge, I already feel sorry for the people that they drive into while talking on their cell phones.

Hello guys and thanks for the feedback,
Whiteballz and Egg Nog,
I regret your dissatisfaction with the styling and performance of the Jeep Commander, and appreciate the time and effort you took to bring this matter to my attention. Comments like yours are one way to learn of problems that may develop and improvements desired by customers. The information received is used in product development and quality analysis.
DaimlerChrysler Motors Corporation has made tremendous gains in customer satisfaction and vehicle quality. Apparently, your expectations - from a styling and performance standpoint - have not been met. Please accept our apologies.
PerfAdv,
Although HEMI, as a technology, has been around for several years, the innerworkings have undergone refinements that the general public is not exposed to. The fundamental concepts for the HEMI engine remain present, serving as the stronghold for any improvements or modifications that may take place; effectively allowing for the retention of HEMI as the engine's name. Furthermore, what the name HEMI does, is evoke images of the technologie's heritage while introducing itself to new consumers that may be unaware of the technology.
For a full chronology of the HEMI engine, check out the link provided.
SpastiK Roach,
Good one .
Smithman,
I'm glad to hear that you are excited about the all-new 2006 Jeep Commander. If you happen to have any questions regarding any features, options or package groups available, I can certainly assist you. As an aside, have you had a chance to check out the We Are The Mudds campaign? If so, did you enter the sweepstakes to win the all-new 2006 Jeep Commander?
If you guys have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask.
Take care...
Miguel M.

Hi Miguel,
The Hemi mini-site doesn't list the Commander as one of the models having the 5.7 Hemi. However, from looking at the Jeep site I see that it is offered. They should update the model lineup on the mini-site. Since Jeep is part of the Daimler-Chrysler group is there any chance the Commander might get a Mercedes built diesel power plant? I believe the Jeep Liberty offers such an engine option.
Thanks.
