I've always wondered how to properly pronounce the Spanish carmaker SEAT. It's not pronounced like the English word seat, is it?

The intro sentence has the IPA pronunciation for English and Spanish. If the Spanish version is correct, and the [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:IPA_for_Spanish"]IPA guide[/ame] for Spanish is correct (and their English analogues are correct), then you say the s like the s in sack, the e like the e in bed, the a like the second a in Barack, and the t like the t in stand.
Or SAY-at in the English way.

Why is it that here in the u.s. we pronounce Hyundai, like "Hunday" but in europe and other parts of the world its pronounced differently.

It's like the way some people say pecan, it's either peecan, or pecohn. I guess it depends on what side of the country you live in.
Im going to go of topic here but speaking of words that Americans cant pronounce correctly. Aluminium. Why is it that Americans do not pronounce it like we, the aussies and the Brits do? You know how you guys pronounce it
