    Chevrolet Impala 1966

    Chevrolet Impala 1966

The 1966 Impala was a quite successful model, in a generally favourable year for Chevrolet, when it sold almost 1.5 mln cars. The Impala was the top of the range and engines ranged from 4,6 litres to almost 7 litres. The latter versions were fitted with a four barrel Holley carburetor and were installed in the SS models, which also featured a double exhaust system. Maximum power of the 7 litre was 431 BHP and the car was supposed to be able to reach 220 kph.

Shown here is a 2-door hardtop SS, which came to the Concours d’Elegance at Het Loo in 2004. Note the Heineken sixpack in front of the passenger seat.

Handsome car!! Fantastic to see such a nice example so far overseas. Judging by what appears to be a mid-'80s Cadillac next door, it seems big American iron has a following over there. Have to admit, though, having "Impala SS" and "concours d'elegance" in the same sentence is a bit odd!

Well, the car did not participate, but as a side-kick to the actual concours, visitors were asked to bring their classics....There were post war Cadillacs in the concours though.

thank you, I got a reference pic of a car which looks quite similar to this one, where it is said that it is 63-64 model. Apparently the nose section of 64 is a bit different from the 63, with a lower bonnet, but well, what the heck

Handsome beast. The Heinekin and the "Ex Porn Star" sticker complete it for me.
