The old ones might have been, but the recent generation had a V6.

Im pretty sure you can get a new bonne with a V8 because you can get it in an Impala and Grand prix.

    3800 Series II w/Supercharger

Dude, it's just a standard 3800 series.... I have a Grandprix GT with the exact same motor. In the Bonneville it would be an SSEi (refer to badges placed on driver and passenger side fenders), on the Grandprix's, it says GTP (Eaton Supercharger is on top of where the plastic cover is now for the 3800 Series II, and doesn't do anything until about 60MPh or more unless of course you know a few friends who...can tweak the EPS computer system for you.. ).

So my bet is that you have something wrong with your alternator...either that, or your belts are squeeking. Tell me, what does your on board computer say about boost? (Dead give-away).

Please don't take this as a flame, I love my Grandprix GT, and the 3800 Series II motor is one hell of a power plant. Gets good gas milage if you take good care of them. Have 80,000 on mine now, and got the car with 43,000 on it. Besides, not bad for a free ride!!! Is this the year with all the seat adjustments as well (lumbar, etc, etc, heat, and all that?)

Either way, enjoy the car, they are great. Just be careful around the 75,000 mile mark, as the earlier tranny's had a tendancy to have "issues" with shifting (experiencing this now with my baby).

Dood. Auto-X-Bonne is reincarnation of Christ himself. It's got more strength in one turn-signal stalk than your whole car.
I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.

Viking funeral, actually. After an incident involving some orange cones, a school bus full of nuns, a tractor trailer carrying whipped cream, and a wild boar.

Thankfully they dropped the charges against Rocke...
