It's a neat idea, but honestly I'm not really sure who would buy this car. The interior is still as cramped as the Elise (note that the extremely wide door sills remain), which would put off any typical customer looking for something "comfortable". Anybody looking for something hardcore would simply pick the Elise.
What differentiates this car from the Elise? The performance is somewhat the same. They should make something as powerful as the Espirit.
It's a good looking car, but not befitting of the Lotus badge. Looks more like a mix between a Proton car and the 1st gen Toyota MR2. I hope this doesn't turn into Lotus' Fiero.
i think the target audience is people with a good amount of money who went into early retirement and want a fun preformance car that wont fall apart for day to day driving, nothing as hardcore as the eliseOriginally Posted by Egg Nog

I realize the market that they're going for, but I can't see it working realistically.Originally Posted by CHEESE-TACULAR
My point was that judging by the interior, it really doesn't look that much less spartan than the Elise. The (less hardcore) crowd of people who will be looking at cars like these will not like the fact that the door sills are so wide nor will they like the fact that it will be fairly cramped inside. It looks cool, but I can't see any reason why someone would buy one. If they want something like an Elise, they'll get an Elise; If they want something more comfortable, they won't get a Lotus at all.
as long as the elise/exige is around, no one is going to buy this.

ATHEIST and damn proud of it.
It does atually look like a proton and i think £33k is pushing it, should be more around the RX8 £25k mark.

I do like it, good looks and more an everyday car than the Elise. And from a great and exclusive brand, so it should sell pretty good
