All these HSV owner joining the "6 Litre Club" will now be spewing . Seeing the 6 litre club isnt exclusive to HSV, cant quite work out why their changing cams when a detune on the ECU on the LS2 would have brought the power figures down. The new catch cry for HSV is will be join the "high lift camshaft club"

The LS2 doesn't have DOD. And when HSV give it Extractors it will go better by 15kw+. But after looking into a VZ HSV with no extractors there isn't much room down the sides there.
But when you think about it most of Chev's engines are the same with bits and capacity changes here and there.
They have called this new 6lt LS1.5. But after Holden did many upgrades on the LS1 it was almost LS1.5 in the end.

I dont know if they'd get away with those power gains anyway for extractors. The new noise and emission regulations would have a pretty tight grasp over what they could get away with i would imagine. Could also be why they chose this engine over a detuned LS2

Yeah the LS2 has got some burble in it for sure over the LS1.
I really hate detuned engines i think let them run free the way they are made and then upgrade them.

What are the chances that this latest Chev engine will follow its predecessors into the hallowed hall of pistonslap.com

    hahah yeah i hope not

I herd about them first engines and how they sounded like crap and would eat oil and burn it only 100k's old. And GM was responsible but hey they gave us shitty engines and trannys at the time and what they say to us, We are to fussy
My Farken engine just spat out my $50 5lt oil and slaps like a beitch with 1000k's on the clock and my tranny wants 2nd gear when it's in 3rd and visavirsa can't pick a bloody gear and makes more sound then a 30 year old VW with 500,000k's without exhaust But remember we are fussy people in Australia lol We just want that expensive car we bought to run right.

My best friend had a leased '98 Statesman VS with the Holden V8. The motor sounded ace and he said he never once needed to add oil

Upgraded in 2000 to VT2 SS; the rest of the car was good but in his own words the LS-1 "rattled like a bucket of bolts"

First Monaro got the slap city to,
I guess a second hand VYII Gen3 would be good to buy.

Last week i seen a VTII SS and VYII SS Wagon at a corner, So i stopped and stood and watched them both take off and there is a big difference in the sound of the 2 engines.
But there was the new update SV8 next to me and it wouldn't start first kick and second go it was a little sick, Most don't let the pump charge before starting and wonder why it has trouble,
My VP takes about 2-3 seconds to charge the pump for start.
