    the only french car i am familiar with, that was imported was the DS in very adjusted versions,which had none of the good looks of the original The adaptions for the N.A. market would take a lot of money. since these cars are not gonna be sold in engough numbers to make them profitable again, the manufacturers simply dont start on them !

    Any other details? Will it be as Renault or badged as Nissans? Will it be through Nissan dealer network?

    It will be Renault's badged Renault and with a new RWD V8 engined car
    It will be a big SUV too (pic \/ \/ \/)

    Sounds good! does the article say the Racoon with use some Nissan Murano mechanicals, specifically the V6?

    it only says that it's going to have a new V6 Diesel, nothing about the Nissan V6 3.5.

    Matra D'Jet were successful sports cars and drive-to-track racers in the 60s.
    Renault imported the GTA.

    I think the best example is netween the canadian car market and the american one ies in the toyota echo (yaris/vitz all over the world). The hatchback version is now sold in canada, and it is having incredible sales. while in the US they have never seen it.

    unless the american society undergoes some MAJOR changes in next few years, small European cars will never make it there, the same way Big American cars/vans/trucks will never make it in Europe.
