just don't use KK thinner(unless being used for KK paints) to thin enamels, otherwise wou'll get fine cracks in the paint

My widebrush looks similar to the one in the pic(with the metal ferrule). My regular brushes are the type that are all plastic.

Applying just the right amount of enamel thinner. It will be trial and error, but that is the essence of modeling

Thats what I've been doing but the weather in sunny california hasn't been warm enough and if the weather is too cold cracks will appear in the thinned paint.

    Progress

Decided against TS-3 (Dark Yellow), looked too much like dirt, even when clear-coated. Went with TS-34 (Camel Yellow). Actually this is the type of Yellow I was after. TS-3, being called Yellow is almost a misnomer.

that indeed looks much nicer...did you handpaint the inner part of the wheelhub, the spaces between the star?

    Thanks

Henk, I did hand paint them. I'm not quite done with the hubcaps either. Need to finish painting the thin band surrounding the Tri-star. With how it's coming out, they really should have had decals for the hubcaps. Decals on top of paint would have finished much cleaner.
