    My friend's Mustang.

Same one that went test driving GTI's with me.

It's a 98 GT. He's got an intake, larger MAF, bigger throttle body, short runner intake manifold, full exhaust with the cats deleted, software, and a Stage 3 Centerforce counter-weighted something or other clutch. He put down 205/265 to the wheels.

It's a fun car to drive and ride in. It'll chirp 3rd. The clutch is insane once it gets some heat in it. TJ ran a 14.8 at Atco Raceway. He'd never been at the track before, Atco was just repaved so there was little to no traction, and he was shifting at 4500RPM. So there's definitely a lot left in it. April 30 we're going to Maple Grove so we'll see what he can do there. I think with some decent tires he could break a mid 13.

I dont think they do emmissions there, so no, it's not illegal. A lot of people put them on for emmissions tests and then take them off.

It looks good, minus the hood.

In PA it depends on where you are in the state, and it depends who you know. But he lives out in cow country, so it's legal there.

He bought the car with the hood. It's supposedly 1 of 500 or 600 made.

it is illegal but most states dont give a crap. thats a pretty nice lookin pony tho but i dunno if im a fan of the hood...sounds like a pretty quick car too but i dont think it might need a set of PI heads if it wants to see 13's

A car with no cats defiantly has a different sound to it. I heard unbolting the sway bar can pick you up a 10th. There was a guy running consistent 11.50's at the track and he told my dad to unbolt the swaybar. It was funny to see like 5 other guys unbolt it. I dont know if hed get into the 13's but a good set of tires would help. I dont know about mid 13's but a high to maybe a 13.7 would be respectable for that car. I have some nittos if youd be intersted in them. If theres any engine part for the owner wants throw me a pm becuase my dad can get almost any part for a 4.6.

Slap the '99-up PI heads on there, and that's a big improvement in and of itself, between it and some cam tweaking it was worth 45hp just according to Ford specs (215 for '96-'98 vs. 260 for '99-up with the PI heads). The non-PI heads are what's holding him back.

Then put in some 3,73's, a good set of tires, practice the launch and shifts, and you have a 13-second car for sure. In its current tune I'm not sure it's good for much better than low-mid 14's, that's what stock 260fwhp '99-up models run. Still, that's a good torque number for a 4.6 putting out only 205 to the wheels - there's a lot of room to grow.

He's debating doing the PI heads. I keep telling him there's 3 PI's at school for the Ford FACT program, and we could just, um, "acquire" a set of them...

Unfortunately he has to work Sunday so he won't get to go to the Grove. But I'm still going to run der Dub. There should be video. 17.5 here I come.

Thats sickenly ironic considering how harsh the US is supposedly over emissions (compared to here at least), or is that mainly a Californian thing?
