    motorcycle advice

I'm looking for a small bike, about 100cc, not much of a performer, just something for kicks. I like the late 70's-early 80's Kawasaki KE100, and want something like that, from the same time. Any body know of something similar? My friend has a KE, and I reckon I could probably find a similar bike for about $500 or less, so any help would be much obliged.

This list is of an earlier era but may offer some pointers for you

Not the best bike in the world by any measure - except for its irresistible name Or you could try an Ossa Plonker

My brother had a Bultaco Pursang (250) from near new, they weren't a bad machine IIRC. Yamaha DT was a popular 2-stroke alternative to Hondas

    Vehicle Description

For those with the finer appreciation of Italian motorcycles, I offer for your viewing, this supper clean 2003 Ducati 999. The motorcycle had been in storage for the last year or so, until the previous owner was released from the custody of the state, and his year long vacation. Being a family member (distant relative), and a fellow motorcycle enthusiast, (I own a showroom 96 916, with 5600 original miles) I offered to help him out with some of his financial troubles. Since I’ve owned the motorcycle, it has received the attention to detail to return this bike to showroom condition. Dealer service and safety check within last 150 miles: service history and warranty issues checked, with a clean bill of health. New Battery New Pirelli Diablos, 190/50/zr17 120/70/zr17 Carbon fiber goodies include: rear fender, exhaust calf shield, heal guards, and rear exhaust cover. Factory upgrade racing exhaust, and computer reprogramming. Rear license plate relocator by Evoluzone. I’ve been through this motorcycle from front to rear, and find no evidence of abuse, other than a little neglect, which I’ve already addressed, and road chips on the leading edges of the lower fairing and radiator cover. The seat does have several air pockets in-between the foam and outer cover, that expand and contract depending on the weather. This motorcycle is not new, and is not being represented as so, neither is the price. New 999s list out close to $20,000 stock, an are no longer available in YELLOW, then add the upgrades. Kelly Blue book has the value at 14,500; my reserve price is set well below that. The motorcycle looks, shows and rides great (much faster than my upgraded 916) and is ready to go for springtime. The bike is also for Sale locally, and I reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time. Trades may be considered, but please don’t waste your or my time with junk offers. Please have your finances in order before bidding

    Watch out.
It will certainly need a complete service and you can expect to be advised to replace the drive for the desmo gear.
Expect to pay upwards of $1500 for bits and another $500-600 for labour
    Ducati's are NEVER cheap.
Mate sold his 750SS rather than pay the exhorbitant costs for exactly that work !!!!! only 2 years old too
