    My new digital camera (probably)

Last week I thought it was about time to get a digital camera. So I went to the shop today and asked the salesman for some advice being a n00b in the world of digital photography.

I told the man I was looking for a camera that is easy to handle, doesn't have too much fancy stuff on it and was in the price range 250-300 euro. He came up with the Canan Powershot A530.

    Details:
    http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/con...&modelid=12914

So, do some of the experts have some more tips or comments about this camera? Please don't forget I have a limited budget and just want to have an easy-handeling camera.

Ugh, I hate Canon's line of Powershots. It's like they're built for absolute idiots who just want to take pictures at parties.

Get the DSC-W7. It did me fine until it realized I lived in a desert.

The A530 is a pretty good camera for beginners, I haven't heard any complaints about it from customers that have bought it. The camera gives you the option for full auto and full manual which is a nice to experiment with.

my canon powershot a85 was a great camera to learn with. so anything in the range should suit your needs perfectly. the quality isnt too bad atall either.

Or you can try the Sony T-series, which is very easy to use.

How much do they cost? I've only got a budget from around $250-300...

The S series is way out of his price range. It's around $450.
