    Because these are are premium prestige cars. They're meant to feel special. If I got in a £110,000 car every morning to see bits of a Fiesta or Ka staring back at me, the specialness would be gone. I drive a Ford now, so the last thing I'd want to see in my prestigious hand-built sports car are the same damn switches!

    To me, it's just little things like that that add up to make a whole difference. I'm not looking for an argument, this is my opinion. I'm not asking you to change it for me.

    I actually found the Audi parts in the Bentley more obvious than the Ford parts in the Aston.

    The DB9 uses little switchs on periferal controls, the Conti GT (and FS) have the the panel in the centre of the dash (looked at constantly) and the screen for picking the radio station and the like you have to interface with so I tended to find these stood out at me.

    Performance = dead heat
    Brand image = dead heat

    So I go with the Aston. It actually looks like an Aston, although slightly overdone for my tastes. The Bentley is just plain ugly.
    An it harm none, do as ye will

    The Aston because I wouldn't know if one of the testers is also a taxi driver who can't even fix his own Mondeo. The same cannot be said for the Bentley.

    ^^ Eh? I think you'll find that you'll need an Aston for both!

    Bentley as a brand-name differs a lot from the Aston for the reasons you mention above... However, this particular model, the Continental GT, I strongly believe, according to my perception, that is a direct rival of the DB9.
