Has everyone forgotten the two quintessential English classics? The Jaguar E-type, often voted one of the most beautifully proportioned cars ever, and the Mini, runner up in the Car of the Century title? The E-type, to me, is the quintessential English classic sports car, the Mini the best English classic every day car. And yes, I've driven a Mini - it was interesting. But not the Jag unfortunately.
UCP's biggest Ford Sierra RS500 and BMW M3 E30 fan. My two favourite cars of all time.

Ahh, who can deny the quintessentially british styling (actually completed by an italian) and sheer perfection of proportion of the early year, chrome bumper MGB-GT? And to only add to the perfection, it isn't prohibitively priced!

Really, though, I would agree with the early 289 Cobra. As for others, I would say the MGA fixed head coupe (I think one of the most beautiful and properly british cars ever), the TR3, AC Greyhound and Aceca/Ace, Aston DB4, Jag E-type, but only the coupe, and pretty much any Morgan. A tie for all, I can't decide.

lol, my driving experience, Protons & Golfs, and a Rover 800 in reverse, although i imagine a Lotus 7 would be more fun!

I would love to drive an original Lotus Elan at some point in my life, but there are many desirable british classics, which include the Aston Martin DB5 Vantage or the Bentley R-Type Continental.

It's incredible how much posts it took before someone said Lotus Elan. That would be my choice.

The problem is I went to sleep... That's why it took so many posts for the Elan to come up...
